I had one of these. I was in ICU for a few days. I asked the nurse, " When does this damn tube come out?" She blew me off. As she was walking out the door, I told her, "I'm going to take this out." We know, we know, we heard you, " she said. As she walked out the door, I took it out. One of the nurses came back in and saw what I'd done. They went bonkers. Got very mad at me. I did get some sleep, though. That damn tube was killing me. I hated it with a passion. I don't remember how many days it was in. It was horrible.
