It's insane to think that Johnny Cash was considered to be somewhat of a has-been at the time. Guy was amazing.

Johnny Cash, from the first day of his career to the last, was an original. And he's still the Man in Black

I loved Johnny Cash ever since I heard "I walked the line". I didn't know Dylan and Johnny was such an admirer of each other and great friends.

Glad I got to see him before he died. Great stuff. Absolute legend.

A couple of idiots standing next to me at the show actually complained when he brought out June for a little mini-set. Like, dude, that's roots-music royalty right there, AND Johnny's wife. Show some respect!

I hadn't listened to a recording of Johnny Cash for a while. I had forgotten what a great singer he was.

One of a handful of musicians to be in both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He certainly deserved it.

I had the honor of attending the Bob Dylan tribute Dave speaks of. A lifetime highlight to be sure.

Authentic..My father's best friend while my father bedridden from a stroke. Never missed a Johnny Cash show. Only time my father, a big band era drummer, was at peace.

There's something so incongruously awesome about this icon of country music having an apartment in NYC on Central Park South.
