While travelling through Amalfi Coast in Italy I found these Massive Lemons! Wild!

Those lemons are that way because back in ancient times, lemons were the only solution that sailors had for not getting Scurvy. Scurvy is an incredibly nasty disease so being able to not get it was super desirable. But way back in the day, the lemons with the thickest skins would be selected for growing other trees with because the thicker the skin that the lemon had, the longer they were able to keep from going bad and the less fragile they would be while sailing out at sea.
So over time, the lemons developed thicker and thicker skins because those were the ones humans most wanted because they lasted the longest and could also be exported to other countries without spoiling, which was very difficult in ancient times because of the slow transportation methods of the time.

Those are Cedar lemons, they are big but not the same as a normal lemon😬 but italian lemons are bigger than others when they are in season
