For some reason I think this theme feels like the best way to say goodbye to Classic Sonic.
Starts very emotional kinda sad and then the music changes to a more optimistic 'keep going' vibe 🥲😊

Let me tell you a short story.

When I was younger, like around 5 or so, I was so into Sonic the hedgehog. No, like I LOVED the series so fricking much. I used to listen to this theme so much. This was my favorite game. I must've beaten this game now about 10, 000, 000 times. I loved this game so much and this song would always make me cry.

Man, what a wonderful ending theme. I especially like that opening part; something about it just feels so... magical to me. I will always associate this song with Sonic as a character the most, even beyond the SegaSonic era.

I remember listening to this track in 2021, near my literally dying grandfather, finding out about his passing right after the song finished. I don't like mentioning it too much, but I go back here when I need a place to fall back to for some motivation. The sad goodbye tone from the beginning to the high energy that is delivered really sends me as good of a leaving message as one that my loving grandfather would've left me at that moment. I don't know how to end a note like this, but I am truly grateful for his presence in my life and may his soul rest in peace... 😔🙏

Sonic CD has hands down the best OST out of the original 2D games.

Absolutely wonderful, wonderful song - undoubtedly one of my favourites in a franchise that would go on to become overflowing with fantastic vocal pieces. The beautiful, bittersweet piano intro quickly transitioning into a cheesy, extremely funky, yet still very emotionally charged and motivating song is brilliant, and feels unique compared to Sonic's later vocal outings. Finding out that the zone clear theme was simply a snippet of this song makes for a great moment of realisation as well.
Sonic Boom, You Can Do Anything and Cosmic Eternity were truly the perfect way to kick off Sonic's ever-expanding line of cheesy yet incredible and endlessly catchy vocal performances.
