In todays video, I explain my process for painting a stroke-based watercolor fish illustration.

How do you paint watercolor in procreate?
By combining some special brushes and a watercolor paper texture, we can paint in this watercolor style. All the brushes, textures, and materials are linked below. They all come with video instruction on how to use them, so it's something your can use even if you are totally new to Procreate.

PRINT YOUR ARTWORK:
Here's the printer I use:
I prefer this one because it's just so easy to get amazing colors and rich, textured shading. This printer is not suitable for printing tiny stuff, like postage stamp size, because it's only going to do 150dpi. That's good enough for a greeting card or anything larger (I prefer to print larger stuff anyways).

Thank you. Love the a freedom of the fish combined with lots of instructions on how to make the brushes and paper textures look like real water colors. Curves, other adjustments, using more variety of the brushes, eraser to trim, etc. all add up to a great tutorial and fill a real need in Procreate community. Please do more. Also thanks for adding mouth file afterwards - shows you care.

Hey, Calvin! You're giving me much hope with my art. I'm trying to get Afu Lee's look but with digital. Do you think I could accomplish this with your tutorials and the default brushes or would I need to buy something like Katsia Jazwinska's Realistic Procreate Watercolor Kit and wait for a tutorial of yours that is more similar to Afu Lee's process? (I feel kind of lost since I'm not used to working with color or paint). I would love to connect with you. Thanks for inspiring and teaching the community!

I have some problems - after selecting freehand and use feather, then choosing adjustments (magic wand), the selection tools doesn't stay there, it disappeared. I don't know but it seems that my ipad can't do the feather feature & adjustments at the same time. Do you happen to know what's the problem and how to solve it? I've closed the app & reboot the ipad but it still doesn't work. Thanks.
