One of my favorite movies. Leonardo and his director had a superb working relationship. Quite an artistic achievement.

Unbelievable! Incredible acting, class director,  and a wonderful movie!

Amazing movie and amazing cinematography but I'm pretty sure I see a mistake in this scene. At 2:58 if you scan the mountain tops behind the right side of Hugh Glass you will see what appears to be a clear-cut in the forest. These types of clear cuts were not very common in the 1820s and you would never see them at high elevations in remote locations. I live in BC and I see these types of clear-cuts very often.

The power of hype makes a boring piece into a "art". The mediocrity of this film is appalling.

This film lost to Spotlight for best picture. Spotlight which was a movie nobody saw that they shot in an apartment somewhere is a better representation of what cinema can do than The Revenant.

It goes without saying, The Revenant will get the award for Best Cinematography.

The fact that it was shot in two different rivers. That means they used color correction to make them both look like the same location.

From start to finish this movie is brilliantly filmed. I'm a western fan and have read countless books about mountain men, pioneers, Native Americans, Louis and Clark, Sacajawea, etc. Alejandro Inarruti did a fine job of presenting those extremely harsh times in this film. This will be the 2nd time I look forward to watching Oscar night. The first time was Dances With Wolves.

Anatomy of a Scene of the bear attack scene?

1:28 pretty sure this is where the camera cuts (right at the water splashing the screen fully) to the stunt man. Been noticing quite a few of these moments. Very well disguised and impossibly to notice on the big screen when watching the first time.

I'm surprised Leonardo didn't die making this film. That water is less than 20 degrees. Phenomenal film and work.

This is definitely the best shot that I've ever seen. Such a great artwork made by the DoP and the Director.

When Leo grabbed the log and floated on it on set during filming, I'd like to think there were a lot of "I'm sorry, there's just not enough room for you, Jack" bad jokes made.

I need a thesaurus to find a better word than, "amazing, " to describe the level of dedication this scene required to produce such a beautiful work of art. Chivo is my hero!!
