Is it wise to seek advice on free trade from the state media of a country that relies on exports for around 40% of their economy?

protectionism only delays the inevitable and makes domestic companies lazy...just look at extreme examples of protectionism, north korea...what north korean "company" or product would be able to compete in the global market...none...we in the us should want access to the best products from around the world, that is what sets us apart from others, we are the most diverse, competitive, and innovative market in the world...the notion that we don't make things is bs, we are a top manufacturer and exporter, we simply import more...with that said, our allies in europe and asia, do place plenty of non tariff barriers on our products, and they should realize there is a breaking point.

if it is 20% cheaper to make something in a country you place a 20% percent tariff on that country, if its 8% cheaper you place a 8% percent tariff. The U.S. was strongest from 1950s-80s because of this. Does Germany not use VAT Taxes to PROTECT is big industries of importance?

Protectionism isn't necessarily a bad thing. It within itself assumes a constant state of of economics... economics in reality is multi-variate... in the long term it may create incentives for people to compete in those products where otherwise it may have not been beneficial. Once the skills of have been obtained protectionism can be removed. Where protectionism may prove the most true is in materials... i.e. a country may have more iron ore and thus can export iron cheaper. Atlas... protectionism can't necessarily be said to be a good or bad thing. Additionally, Trump argues not for free trade which in the long term actually could bankrupt a nation but rather one of fair trade.

The US has a 113 billion trade deficit with Germany therefore the US should tariff all German goods entering the US. Germany is just taking advantage of free trade, they want access to US Markets, but they want to produce their own manufactured goods. The founders of the US Republic demanded reciprocal trade. Here in this video we have a female Milton Friedman, trade deficits damages deficit countries and gives that wealth to the exporter.

Yes- the world is interconnected and although un-elected control by the elite is not desirable, fencing in countries by physical or trade walls will also be detrimental. Free market by the people has been and will always be the determining force anywhere in the world. Although governments with their presidents govern countries the real and free market economy is what steers countries. People must insist on their rights to freely move, trade and live anywhere in the world as per our right as man on the land.
