As a person from another country, now I understand why so many horror movies take place in US small towns. Don't get me wrong. US small towns are fascinating. They have a special aura that is hard to explain, like they belong to another world.

I remember going into a restaurant in a small town in Texas. My mom "not speaking good English" sent me in to get the food. I was 10 or 11 and the whole room just stopped eating and watched me. I'm talking about 30 or more grown adults all white looking at a little Mexican boy like I was a threat to all of them. You could literally hear a fork drop. I never went back to that place. I smiled when they tore the place down.

My aunt was abducted by our city's serial killer Jeffery mailhot I think a decade ago. There were ladies decapitated and cut to pieces found behind our pharmacy dumpsters. My aunt was the only survivor because she wasn't a prostitute, she had a husband who was scared and worried and called the cops. She was held captive for 2 days. She was raped beaten and tied up in a tub when the police found her. Now her picture is in a book as the woman that testified against the serial killer and how her husband wouldn't let things lie and just assume she was at a friend's. He was scared for her and wouldn't stop calling the police.

In his younger days my stepdad used to deliver the mail part time. He said there was a guy who used to talk to the telephone poles. Some days he was friendly, others he would swear at them. The other postmen told my stepdad not to worry about him because he didn't bother anyone.

1:40 - There used to be a store called "Beer, Bait, and Bullets" in St. Charles, MO. And, like in the reddit, it was exactly what it sounds like. I don't know when it got bought out but it's a Royals Liquor now. No more bait or bullets.

I was up in the backwoods of the mountainous area of Colorado. I got strep throat and went to the doctor in town. The doctor and veterinarian not only shared the same building, but also the same waiting room..(and probably exam room)

A women her two children and best friend vanished before a shopping trip the friend’s husband got worried then wife didn’t come home and would not answer cell phone found wife car and family car in drive way he went to the house found the door unlocked and blood all over the floor no body’s suspicion automatically went to the Ex husband father of the children I don’t know how but the fbi got a search warrant for the guy down the street bit of oddball liked tree and collected leaves that when everyone realized what was in the house first they found leaves both in trash bag and lose all threw the house hoarder style that when the got to his basement they found the 14 year old girl tied up in the basement on a bed of leaves covered with a tarp covered with leaves turn out he had become in love and obsessed with the daughter he decided that was the day he would have her stabbed mother her son and the friend to death cut them up rapped them in tarps and tied the daughter up and drove them back to his house unloaded her in the house put her in the basement took the body in a hollow tree and mistreated the daughter till she was rescued

Gpl stores dont exist where I live I've found 2 gun stores in like a 50bmiles radias I know of 1 porn store unless you count Spencer's in the malls and there are endless liquor stores I have about 4 in a 5 miles radias of my house...
