“We don’t know…we haven’t studied it for too long”
Pretty much sums up all of women’s healthcare. 😬😭

"I'll write you a script for Zofran"

I love the "we are just as exasperated as you about the lack of research but have reached the point of apathy" vibes, because it really do feel like that sometimes

Legitimately, building a full human in your body is seriously insane work.

My first pregnancy was rough. Doctor wouldn't give me enough Zofran, so I was miserable the entire time, lost weight, had an emergency c section, and a premee.
The second pregnancy was with a new doctor. Was given plenty of Zofran and ended up gaining too much weight because I couldn't stop eating. Now I have a chunker toddler. Us mommas need more support and doctors who will listen!!!

Here’s how much they haven’t studied it: early studies suggest women with congenital anosmia (no sense of smell) don’t get morning sickness; and then- we did nothing with that information 😬

I'm pregnant and I stay at home. I genuinely cannot understand how somebody could work a full-time job and do this. My heart goes out to you all because I don't understand. I feel like garbage all day everyday, some days I can barely do the dishes. Work 8 hours? Hell no. Just no. I couldn't. I won't. I'd move back in with my parents first. Absolutely not.

Oh man this one hit home! I have 4 children and I was extremely sick (throwing up) with all of them! Then the doctor would say, “ it should clear up after your first trimester “ ….. well it never did!! I threw up at least 3 times a day for all nine months. I would only find relief about 6 hours after birth. It was crazy! And you know what? I would do it all over again for these beautiful kids❤❤❤

I'm 10 weeks and feeling all of this! It's insane that we don't know more about the symptoms of pregnancy and the best way to relieve them.

My nausea during my second pregnancy was absolutely horrendous. I would be starving, but as soon as a plate of food was put in front of me, I'd have to puke. It was so miserable. So my OB gave me some medicine to help with the nausea because I was actually losing weight. The medicine did a great job at curing the nausea, but I was now experiencing extreme constipation that was painful. It took me almost a full month to realize that the same medicine that helped me was also hurting me. So I had to choose to either
A. No longer be nauseous, able to eat without throwing up, but unable to poop
B. Throw up at the mere sight of food, but able to poop without pain

Being pregnant is one of the most difficult things I've ever put my body through. I love my babies, but god, the things they did to my body while I was growing them was enough to make me NEVER consider a 3rd one. I can't believe I even made it through the second one.

I am childfree at 27 got my tubes removed and all that- but your content is still so relatable because I’ve got a chronic illness and the emphasized way you said “like DOG SHIT” really spoke to my soul. That is how it be sometimes.
