Frydenberg labels Chalmers an 'economic novice' over JobKeeper claims

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has blasted his Labor counterpart Jim Chalmers for his claims that cutting JobKeeper would have diabolical consequences for owners of small businesses.

Last Thursday unemployment numbers defied expectations, falling to 5.5 per cent for the month of April - despite JobKeeper coming off in March.

“The end of JobKeeper had no discernible impact on the appointment numbers between March and April”, Mr Frydenberg said.

“The member for Rankin has shown himself to be the economic novice we all know he is.”

We can confirm and prove current inflation over a 50 year period is 1150% roughly, what does this really mean for that time .
So if you worked for 1 hour in 1971 to obtain the SAME buying power you would need to work 11.5 hours in 2021 .
