Two things I would suggest: 1) It's a good idea to spray the decoy with carb cleaner beforehand and wipe down. You may need to repeat this process once or twice before you start to paint. This removes any oils (mould release and from your hands) as well as loose dirt and paint. If it melts some of the paint off that's a good thing. Keep at it until you have a nice dry deke. 2) wear latex gloves so you don't transfer oils from your hands to the decoy. Your paint will adhere better.

I mean it looks pretty good, I did what u said to do by pressing on it and it helped a little but theirs still lighter spots idk if I gotta keep adding paint and that's why it clumps but I mite just say screw it and buy flock bc I want a finish that looks as good as your's!
