ABOUT
My main goal is to provide you the tools to rationally share your opinion on tough topics.

I've adopted the mindset that you can either be a victim of your past or a victor of your future and that at some point, you have to move forward in your life and accept that you are the present manifestation of the past.

I'll always be here to share my thoughts and offer a new perspective on tough topics. From politics to culture and self-development to new ideas, I'm here to talk about it all.

We firefighters are completely tired of this. I haven’t been home in 10 days and LA county fire is keeping us all at the stations. We don’t even have enough rigs to staff! Some of my coworkers own homes have burned up while trying to protect other’s and the dept will not let them have a day off to rest or anything. California cannot keep doing this. We are exhausted. We want to help others, but our local government and management is unwilling to help US.

My dad is a forrest expert and environmental agrologist…
I never hear him rant as much as when a big fire breaks out and he can list literally 20 laws that CAUSED this crap

"Which my response is...he got himself into the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire" has to be the most ludicrous and idiotic statement coming from anyone who works in a fire department. I have seen this video clip a hundred times in the past week and it still angers me so much. What are people thinking?

You are objective and fair. The "I want the stereotypical fireman saving me" bit cracked me up, as well. I am glad your channel exists. May you get the recognition you truly deserve.

Fun Fact: Local and neighboring National Guard and ARMY reserve units, have access to water purification equipment that can produce clean water straight from the ocean. Not sure why the media is saying we don't have the equipment or infrastructure to pump sea water, but we do.

California: catches fire every year.
Californian leaders: don't invest in fire prevention.
Also Californian leaders: actually reduces their budget and ability to fight fires.
Californian leaders: surprised pikachu face as their world burns down around them.

The last thing on my mind in an emergency is if the person looks like me. I DO NOT CARE! This is not about race or gender this is about having the most capable person to do the job they are signing up to do. I definitely understand there are probably biases making it harder for women to get on the fire department team BUT if they can’t handle the job tasks then we don’t want them on the team plain and simple.

FYI, BE CAREFUL who you donate to, there are people in cali TAKING PICTURES of burnt homes, and claiming them as thiers to get donations ONLINE. I'm all for helping those in these situations but as we know, there are looters and donation hawks trying to get money by posing as people who LITERALLY lost everything. do your research first before you donate!!! stay safe!

If you’re in California…. And you see the devastation the fires have cause and the lack of resources available…. And you still say that trump is wrong and doesn’t know what he’s talking about…. I quite literally, genuinely have no words…… like there’s nothing you can say to these people

As an old man I definitely don't want to see someone looking like me showing up to save me!

I live in Indiana near Lake Michigan. There are controlled burns here regularly, especially near the dunes. When humans aren't around at all, animals and fire naturally keep the undergrowth from growing out of control. When humans are remotely around, it can sometimes fall to us to manage the land and keep catastrophes from happening. Fire is important for this.

Controlled burns are healthy for the land, fascinating to watch, and are perfectly safe when done right. We need them as long as we're around. Otherwise, tragedies will keep happening in California. The fact that CA has fallen behind on this so badly is wild to me.

The people who screech how we shouldn’t politicise this, are the first ones to politicise a tragedy when they can blame the other side.

As an Aussie and seeing how much preparation goes into bushfire season with burn offs, fire restrictions and water restrictions it’s insane to me that the California government isn’t doing the same.

Forester here with a note on clearing brush and controlled burns. The fact of the matter is that for over 100 years the US has prevented wildfires from clearing the land naturally while also preventing people from clearing it mechanically. What we are left with are forests that are filled to the brim with fuel, and now that fuel is drier than ever due to climate change. A lot of our forests are powder kegs waiting to blow and California is a textbook example of that. The problem with Cali is that their government claims to be a champion of the environment while making the same stupid mistakes we made 100 years ago. You can’t say something needs to be done then make it illegal to do it. You can’t identify a problem and then defund/fire the people whose job it is to fix it.
It’s simple, let Mother Nature do her job or take responsibility and do it yourself. If you just ignore it or make it worse then nature will find a way to fix itself and that way is almost always explosive and violent. Fire crews will clear the forest to protect your town. Nature will clear your town to protect the forest.

21:49 OMG!!!! YES!!! I FEEL SO SEEN!! My mom inherited a huge home that her parents bought way back when real estate was cheap. People in our neighborhood think that we are rich solely just by looking at our home. But what most people don't know is that it's so hard to maintain the huge home she inherited especially with her pension and this economy. We're lucky to have the home because it's been paid off by my mom's parents and we're just living basically free and not paying rent. But the maintenance kills us financially. Thank you Amir for explaining real estate to people who don't understand how it works.

Desalination plants are absolutely a thing to make ocean water usable for things like this. Rain water should be stored, desalination should be used, reservoirs should be built and filled. Forests should be maintained with brush cleared and selective logging, and routine controlled burns. And that's before getting creative, like having smoke sensors throughout the forests for early detection or strategically placed water storage sources, possibly remote activated, throughout the forest for ease of access in remote places.

The problem is that no one gets awards for problems that never happened, so time and resources get directed to shiny things that get media attention. Down to earth people who have common sense and basic priorities need to make a leadership comeback in our society.

In 2014 California passed Proposition 1, which authorized $7.12 billion dollars in bonds to build new dams and reservoirs. Since that was passed, California has actually managed to have removed 4 dams and not even start construction on any new dam or reservoirs. Thats how stupid this state is

As usual, you are right on point. Your words echo what I've been saying the last few days about DEI and about insurance. Keep up the good work, and thank you.

If a company has a preventable disaster, the CEO is at fault. Why is it not the same when a state has a massive failure in policy and preparation, how is it not the Governors fault?
