If Halima Aden enters as Miss Universe Somalia 2020. Would she win?

It is rumoured that Halima will enter Miss Universe 2024, But if she entered this year would she win?

If Halima Aden enters Miss Universe she will be the very first woman to represent Somalia in the Miss Universe pageant. But who is she? Where is she from and what does she stand for.? Can she win the Miss Universe 2020 crown?

Halima was born in a Kenyan refugee camp to Somali parents. At the age of six she moved to America and settled in St Cloud, Minnesota. She attended Apollo High School where her classmates voted her as their school homecoming queen. She later went on to attend St Cloud State University.

In 2016 she competed in the Miss Minnesota USA pageant and was noted for being the first woman to wear a hijab.

Halima's participation in the contest caught the attention of international media, and in 2017 she was signed to IMG Models. Despite only being 5’5”, Halima went on to make her catwalk debut during the 2017 New York fashion week.

Halima Aden is 23-years-old and stands 166 cm tall
Other notable firsts.

First to grace the front of Vogue Arabia and Vogue UK wearing a hijab.
In 2019 Halima was the first hijabi model to feature on the cover of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue.

In 2018, Aden became a UNICEF ambassador and her work is focused on children's rights.
Halliima announced in November that she stop doing runway and fashion shows because she feels she was not respecting her hijab. "If my hijab can't be this visible - I'm not showing up, period,” she said.

Halima Aden is proud of her country Somalia and once said she wears her hijab as a crown. Maybe she will get the wear another crown as well.
