Great content. I think Baseball Reference WAR is much more accurate. For example, Nasty Nestor has a 1.7 WAR on BR

Pitchers can really increase their war with a couple great games. This was a great watch, would love to see this again in a couple of months.

Love these videos! I think this video also highlights why some people aren’t a fan of WAR being the end all be all stat, hahaha.

Skubal is a strikeout machine that hardly walks anyone. He had a shaky first couple outing but now he is money. And he was very good last season as a rookie. If he were on a team like St. Louis or Atlanta he’d win 20 games with no issues. And he is a mid 25. Very good cheap L.T.I.. If he ends up in a big market and experiences minimal injuries, I truly believe he has H.O.F. talent. (Rodon strikes out something like 16 guys per 9 innings. He either pitches a gem or a dud every game.) sorry to keep adding as I watch. I’m HUGE into fantasy baseball. Gausman has 54 strikeouts and TWO walks. He averages about 7 innings every game and he plays in Toronto which is NOT a pitcher friendly place. And his e.r.a. Is under 2.50. He’s been a top 10 fantasy pitcher for a few years.

I appreciate all the work that goes into these videos. It’s one thing to have the top 30 WAR list, but it had to be a ton of work digging up all of the best cards you have of those players. I’m a big fan of WAR because it gives you individual value, which can be overlooked. A lot of the stats you were referencing for guys you were surprised to see so high weren’t individual stats. For example, wins and losses for a pitcher. A great example of this is that the Reds just no-hit the Pirates, but lost the game. You mentioned that Gausman has a very low FIP while having an unimpressive W/L record, and that would be a better statistic to look at for individual performance, as it takes the fielding by the players behind him out of the equation. Loved this video, though, and looking forward to another WAR video later in the season!

Gimenez was the Mets #2 prospect that was traded for Lindor. He was also a top 100 prospect I believe. He has the potential to be a special player.

Fangraphs WAR is called fWar. So if you see war anywhere it’s the same I believe, it’s fWar that’s calculated differently

War is calculating how a player stacks up compared to the other players that play their same position right.

According to Baseball Reference Cortes has 1.7 WAR as of 5/17 and Rodon has 0.9 WAR
