Related Rates: Airplane problem

In this video, we will cover the airplane problem that frequently appears in related rates. When an airplane is flying horizontally, the angle of elevation from the ground changes over time, and we can find how quickly this angle is changing at a specific moment in time.

The reason why you may find related rates problems difficult is because you may not know what to look for first and what to do next when you encounter a problem.
I will guide you through the four things you need to do in order to easily solve related rates word problems. Once you find and solve these four things one by one, related rates problems will no longer be difficult.
The four key components are Condition, Question, Relation, and derivative of Relation.
