Professor Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia University is interviewed by Dan Klein about being an economist and the economics profession today. The conversation turns to his own ideological outlook and whether it has changed over the decades. The second half of the conversation is about the Deep State and US foreign policy, particularly with respect to Russia. Sachs explains why the globalists’ aim to regime change Russia and break up the Russian Federation is unjust. And he explains what it is that animates that unjust aim.

It's such a breath of fresh air to hear a highly competent, highly trained and highly experienced individual speak truthfully. I think most Americans have forgotten what it feels like to hear somebody who speaks simply honestly. I plan to read some of Dr Jeffrey Sachs' books.

Instead of arming Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan; US tax payer money should be spent on infrastructure, healthcare, education, homelessness etc.

Prof. Sachs is thoughtful and well-informed as usual. Our great nation has been lacking leadership and we sorely need someone like Prof Sachs to lead. Let's get the chat going now. Jeff Sachs for President!!! 2028!!!

Professor Sachs is Superman trying to save the world from itself. I for one hope he can.

It was never about politics in the first place. It was always economical issues. If you want to stop wars, you need to change the economic system in away it does not have big influence on politics.
All the conflicts initiate by the financers. They need to protect their investment for centuries. Ensuring one economic system where people forced to live with it because there are no alternatives. A system of forced consumption to sustain their big investment, and people pay the excess of production by devaluation of the currency. That's why they really disappointed by the Chinese, they thought they will hand their economy to them like Japan and Korea.

I have to admit I was shouting Putin sychophant after Glenn Diesen received the stage or front row and questions directly to Putin at the Valday Conference last year. Now I have learned of my error thanks mainly to Professor Diesen. Thank you.

Thanks, Dan, great interview. Smart people often advocate dumb ideas, America's 20th century tragedy.

YouTube deleted my comment, so I'll type the comment again.
First of all a fair and factual analysis of the geopolitical reality in the Western World.
Just one small remark: professor Sachs states the reperations demanded by the alies at the end of WW1 on the German state (as documented in the treaty of Versailles) were not an incentive for Nazi Germany to start WW2. The fact of the matter is that only one fifth of the reparations had been paid by the subsequent German governments between the end of WW1 and the start of WW2. Hjalmar Schacht, the Banker who shaped Hitler's power was key in reducing and delaying the payments of the agreed upon reparations.

The world sure would be less of a mess if we had Jeffrey Sachs in the White House. Or at least secretary of state. But the way things are now, it looks to me like there are certain forms of animal life that zoologists classify as animals even though they don't actually have brains. This includes jellyfish, sponges, sea anemones, oysters and the architects of American foreign policy.

How come nobody discusses the NATO-Russia Founding Act, signed on May 27, 1997, in Paris, France?
