The biggest reason I hate real estate agents is that they are providing a service that anybody can do themselves with a few simple Google searches. I hate that they always tell you how great these properties they show you are, and then when you move in and discover shit falling apart they disappear and take no responsibility.
But for damn sure they’re going to ask for referrals and send you spam mail and mail out for the rest of your life. I’m not expecting total strangers to actually care about me or my family. Especially not a sales person. What I do expect is a little bit of integrity and honesty.

None of the listed reasons in this video are what I take issue with for the Realtor profession. My issue is the lack of intellectual honesty or perhaps even real knowledge about the market. In 2008 every realtor I talked to said it was a good time to buy. It seems like most are completely unaware or hide the facts about housing bubbles. Its always a good time to buy. LOL

I had such a bad experience as a first time buyer . I learned that you can’t trust a realtor . My realtor keeps pushing me to buy bigger . I even have a realtor who try to double dip on a sale . She tried to represent the seller and me the buyer . I dropped her quick . I even have a realtor call me right before bed . These are all different realtors in California .

Let’s be honest, 99% of agents suck. Anyone can become an agent. Literally the dumbest friend I grew up with is a RE agent. They BS you, are not informed and can only handle simple transactions such as 20% down conventional. They are useless and once someone ties up the lose ends such as a good app to submit your own offers and virtual legal representation to advise you on steps to take during the process real estate agents will be completely gone.

My reasons? I've never met one that isn't so narcissistic about what they do (constant memes and posts about making people's dreams come true). Glorified middle men, in an industry that's dominated by eye candy agents, and have little fiduciary duty to their clients. Many act as if they got an MBA once they start making their first sales straight out of their license.

I've been waiting for a housing crash, and if for one reason I want it to happen is to stop seeing these Instagents act like they're anything more than car salesman.

The realtors I have dealt with are crooks, thieves, liars, idiots, incompetent, criminals, or lazy. I had a realtor cold call me who upon research with TREC had 3 felony convictions for robberies and drug dealing. Another realtor who claimed to be an expert in the order royally screwed a home buyer when they sold them a property with no disclosure that is was a "Historical Neighborhood". Let's just say the homeowner lost a lot of money getting red tagged from the city and the realtor/broker was a slap on the wrist. An agent relisted my property for sale (WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION) even though let it expire and was selecting another agent. I always ask questions and listen careful for any lies that come out of their mouth. Property managers have churned me on repairs and given me hot checks. Need I say more?

I have had pretty good experiences with agents, but I worked for a "team" that was pretty scummy. They were very successful but the definition of a churn factory. They also screwed their agents pretty hard by slashing their commission from something like 40% for team generated leads to 30%, and from 60% on agent found deals to like 40%. In turn they lost almost all their top agents and most agents that join leave after they become successful and realize they have what it takes to find clients without the teams help.

I’m a brand new agent and it took me 8 months for another agent to tell me what agents actually do. PROBLEMATIC and the reason that I became a REALTOR.

Amazing video! You flipped the script on what should be expected out of a real estate agent.

There's this aggressive, almost suffocating idea that you have to be this alpha type salesperson, which can be a massive turnoff for many people. That's promoted, too, in alot of the Youtube content about successful tips in real estate, that have this really aggressive approach to pursuing leads and convincing people that you're the best of the best. But what about simply showing, not convincing, people that you're a genuine person who is actively listening to them, not just talking at them, and acts in their best interest, no matter how much work or pay that might look like on your end. Funny how that's never discussed as a "best practice" but is probably going to get you the most referrals and business along the way. We have two ears and one mouth so we can listen twice as much as we speak!

Thanks for sharing your insights and experiences.

p.s. at 2:03 perhaps you meant to say mobile phone user? :D

As a loan officer, I can tell you why--you really have little skin in the game other than putting a for sale sign in a yard and walking people through a house. We do an immense amount of work and are constantly bothered by realtors asking if we're closing on time or has the appraisal come in which translates into am I going to get that commission I've already spent. To cap it all off, you all pull up the day of closing in your leased Range Rover, all dolled up acting as if you've done something miraculous. Granted there are some excellent agents out there but I'm finding them less and less these days; it seems that if you can breathe into the bottom of a glass you can get a real estate license.

complete conflict of interest, your buyer agent and seller agent have the exact same goal and desired outcome, that you spend as much as possible on that property. Should be illegal the way the system is set up

Atleast with me its not that i hate agents..but brokers..i hate brokers more than enough that i am more than content staying wholesale investor and not ever renewing a license..which btw is a waste of anybody's time.

Reason 1: The 1k agents is san antonio paradigm and this isnt a brokers fault btw its just a fact that any agent has to understand...your a dime a dozen.
Reason 2: Brokers are over requiring before releasing into the field.
Reason 3: Brokers are also segregational before letting into the field.
Reason 4: And most important reason of all. Agency and brokers are extinct. The only exclusion you get with a license...is representation. Which is like the least payed of em all. A commission..simply put 3k for every 100k of value. I can get a property for lower contract flip it and obtain much than that house.

Agency is just extinct. Too much unbalanced bossing, too much lack of pay compared to all others..its like bro..ur seller client just got a fat stack while u got shiit agent.
Why not be the low buyer and if low buy enough u flip to an investor. Take a damn good fee..just dont represent...i like that. I dont like working for fools..i make my business.

Good stuff! I'm planning on getting my real estate license in the next 2 months. Starting to learn what ever I can from youtube. Number 4 (easy commission) came up a lot. Thank you so much for this video!

Christina Stoicescu is crooked. On a Friday I was told to give my best and final offer on 140 Vail Ln Warren NJ. That Sunday morning I was told they would decide that night. Sunday night, after she already had everyone's best and final offer, I get an email saying to once again submit my best and final offer by Tuesday. She said to submit it to a different realtor, she was now also representing a buyer. Wednesday morning I got her boss to admit that her client was the one that was chosen. Now her ~$21, 000 commission is $42, 000 for double dipping. How is that legal?
