When he came, he initially came across the Vinaya pitaka ( One of the three Tripitakas which is the Buddhist literature) texts which were not in good condition and torn.. he called more 3-4 monks from China to help him and decided to rewrite the texts, later they together rewrote Vinaya pitaka... And further went to the south that is towards Srilanka
