Troublemaker on amateur radio

STORY: I was listening to these two guys in Massachusetts having a nice conversation, when all of a sudden, the guy with the southern accent comes in and starts swearing (illegal) and complaining about the guy's audio (which as you can hear, is perfectly fine), and that he's causing splattering further up the band.

After I stopped filming, other people proceeded to come in and let the protagonist know that there was nothing wrong with his audio. The protagonist's friend tuned up the band, and found the troublemaker on another frequency doing the same thing to another group of hams. Our protagonist gets the troublemaker's call sign and looks him up on the Internet, and finds that he's had several call signs, probably because he keeps ticking people off.

Don't be that kind of ham.

Old man doesn't have a ham; he's got a beef.

"Well I appreciate your 100 watts yelling at me." Classic!

As a "young" person, it is interesting to see the evolutionary steps we took to get to the current level of internet trolling.

Kudos to my fellow MA ham for keeping his cool while standing his ground. It's a real shame but, no matter where you go or what you do, there are always people like our Southern 'friend' who will try to ruin your fun. If only there were a simple

This is why I stick to CW on hf. Takes too long for people to argue, so keeps everyone polite and short.

As the voice on this video. That man constantly complained about me and it all had to do with his receiver filtering…lol

All I can say to upcoming new hams out there wanting to upgrade to general or extra is don’t let a few cruel people on 75 or 40 meters get to you. Life goes on with or without them anyways and just enjoy amateur radio as much as you can.

People like that need to get off ham and go to cb

Shame people like that exist on radio but hats off to the operator for keeping his cool. Best thing is to move frequency and not give them the satisfaction of seeing he is annoying you. 2019 now so not too many amateurs around, especially in the UK. Nice video.

Let's be completely honest, audio compression/processing by it's very nature increases Intermediatory (off frequency) signal levels (splatter), propagation conditions, location/proximity and equipment can all contribute towards the problem however that doesn't mean we can/should verbally abuse other operators, the air waves belong to all and sometimes we just need to move frequency 👍

CB radio operators have so much respect and fun in N.ireland.
This video does no favours for anyone watching this considering to take up the wonderful hobby of radio communications.

There is no requirement to be within 3k. In fact 4k wide is only recommended.
