HAMSTERS VS GUINEA PIGS | Hamster HorsesandCats

Hello everybody! Today's video is all about hamsters VS guinea pigs as pets! I sum up the pros and cons of both and even share which one I prefer right at the end (kind of!)

Summary
*Guinea Pig* : Bigger in size, social(atleast 2 litters), require more space, diurnal pet, likes to be handled.

*Hamster* : Small, not social, require less space but loves a wheel, mostly nocturnal, does not like to be handled.

If you have time in hand go for a guinea, if you're a busy person with less apartment space go for a hamster.

in my experience their both amazing animals! Guinea pigs are better for interactive animals though hamsters prefer to spend their time by themselves. Amazing video Nat! xx

Guinea pigs are the best IN MY OPINION.

All in all, if I were forced to make a choice, I’d say I like Guinea Pigs better, but it’s SUCH a hard choice to make. I’ve had, and fallen IN LOVE, with both...such a toss up, they both have perks. Pigs live longer, way longer, but hamsters get to run around in their ball(sooo fun). Pigs are better for cuddling, but hamsters take up less room. Pigs are way more social, but that can be a double edged sword, where as hamsters tend to be WAY quieter. Pigs can go outside to play with you, while hamsters have a way simpler diet to follow and don’t need baths. I don’t find either particularly smellier than the other, and there both just sooo darn adorable. 🥰

Actually guinea pigs are vegan, which makes them less smelly than hamsters, I clean out my pigs cage once a week and it doesn't smell very bad. You have many pigs, which is probably the reason why it smells a bit more.

Hamsters are just too fragile for me😂 They're so smol and you have to take sooo much care it just omg it's overwhelming.

Hamsters - micro pro solitary “old world guinea pigs”,

Guinea pigs- very socialable, almost rabbit sized “ new world hamsters”

I’ve owned both and guinea pigs are definitely more loving in my experience plus, they’re easier to train tricks to in exchange for treats!! And they are decently way more intelligent domesticated compared to their wild counterparts.
