Let's take the first look into Terraria's 2nd game!

This is a pre-alpha teaser trailer for Terraria: Otherworld.

Set in an alternate dimension within the Terraria universe, Terraria: Otherworld places the player in a life-and-death struggle to restore a once-pristine world – now overrun by a malevolent force that has corrupted nature itself – to its original splendor. Along with a rag-tag band of survivors, will you be able to successfully harness the power of an array of weaponry, magic, defenses, and even the world itself to thwart the designs of this unseen evil?

Combining the experience of sandbox gameplay with role-playing and strategy elements, Terraria: Otherworld explores the Terraria experience in an innovative and unique way - providing a fresh approach to the “open world” genre.

This is just too great. And to think this will be released BEFORE Terraria 2!

Two whole new terraria themed games coming up, and with the 1.3 patch as well. And continued updates and support for the original terraria.

And as terraria being one of my favourite games of all time, this is pretty much a dream come true! XD

Can everyone maybe stop saying that this is bad? the graphics had to change if they are going to get better and its supposed to be different. Right now nothing is even near being complete so it will look so much better when it's done and the gameplay is probably going to be amazing.

Oh my goodness, I'm SO excited for this!  The graphics look lovely, the gameplay's really smooth and everything... looks... awesome!!!  Thanks foe posting this Chippy, I'll be keeping an eye on your updates :)

a PSA for everyone:
this IS NOT terraria 2, its just a spin-off of terraria and it's in another dimension. maybe there arent the same enemies, NPC and other stuff that were in the original terraria universe, maybe there are other mechanics maybe its the same game with different graphics, BUT in my opinion this game is going to have an objective but it's just a theory.

It may not look like much, but believe me, this game has TONS of hidden secrets already. From the game's description, this game revolves mainly around purifying the world (Although Terraria had a big focus on the corrupted and hallowed parts of your world, it was never really a concern to purify it). Judging by most of the items that we seen, I'd say exploration has an even bigger role in Otherworld than in the original. I suppose most of those weapons COULD have been crafted, but they don't look like your common metals, meaning that you'd need to gather other resources for them. It also seems even more combat based than Terraria (and that says A LOT). I mean, it looked like you can craft armor from a ton of things. Oh yeah, and did I mention those shields? One of them was wooden, so I'd put my money on craftable shields.

Past all this theorizing, I wouldn't be quick to judge this game. After all, hardly anything was shown. I have great faith in this game. Too bad there's no pre-order option ha ha.

too soon to judge, I'd love ii if game devs would launch demos again like in the ol' days, you get to try the product without having to shell your money at it, the reason I'm saying this is I'd like to try this new Terraria (pre-alpha, alpha, beta, release wahtever) before deciding wether I want to buy it or not
