the audacity to walk into someone's house and saying their house stinks like an "old Asian restaurant" is so rude 😭

Having the boldness to come into someone's house as a guest and talk shit is ASTOUNDING. I was raised with manners, and a guest's job is to be polite and grateful.

People are bold! If I think something smells, looks, or tastes disgusting I keep it to myself, if you're not being forced to put it in your mouth then just be quiet.

i remember all these non asians hating on boba, kimchi and all but now its a trend, so hypocritic
edit: i knew i would get hate ngl so yea
Edit two: just to clear some confusion, one i know people can actually change and those aren't the people i was referring to and two ik not all non asians are haters and hypocrite i think it's common sense

As a non-asian...commentening on someone else's food like this is so rude, especially when they're your guest. I love Asian food and want to try cooking so many things at home ❤

Even as a kid I remember getting so disgusted when other kids were making fun of someone for the look/smell of their lunch

As a little white girl growing up in a mostly white neighborhood, my best friend at the time was a little hmong girl a few houses down.
I would go to her house almost every day and I remember coming over and having food with them all the time. It was my favorite part of living in that city and I miss it every day. Especially since they took care of me so well while my family was in a tough spot.
I hope to see her again one day, as she made SUCH a big impact on me. Miss you every day, Ruth!

I'll never understand how someone so rude can be so popular. Heck, I'll never understand how someone can be so rude in the first place.

I'm black self can't comprehend why anyone would do that. If you have nothing nice to say then don't say it especially about someone else's home and cultural food.

Kids at school always made fun of my bulgarian food...now "mediterranean diet" and other similar types of dishes I used to bring to school are popular. the way people used to turn up their nose at anything i had with fermented cabbage or "sour" yogurt...well, we immigrants always knew our food was better, even before it was cool!

⭐️ Sparky’s doenjang jjigae recipe
- Prepare stock: add to pot half an onion (with peel), palm size of dried kelp, fistful of sliced Korean radish, half of 1 dae-pa (large green onion), 3 cups water
- Boil on medium high heat for 15min
- Discard the veggies in the stock. Keep the liquid.
- Add 1/2 potato, 1 zucchini, 1/2 onion (all cut into bite sized pieces), and 5 minced garlic cloves
- Boil on medium high heat for 10min
- Mix in 1/4 cup deonjang (fermented soybean) paste and bring to boil
- Add in 8 ounces of medium-firm tofu (cut into bite sized cubes) & 1 chopped green/red chili pepper
- Boil for 5 min
- (optional) Stir in 1 tsp gochugaru
- Right before turning off stove, add 1 chopped green onion on top

I was bullied as a teen for being interested in Asian culture. Now everyone listens to K-pop and watches K-dramas. I am glad Asian food items are more accessible now since I always hoped to get my hands on them ❤

Maybe she was young, but a friend who cares about you would not say something like that!!

I grew up in a predominantly Latino community, so as a Latina I’ve never had to experience that. I’m sorry that must have been terrible 😭. But DAMN ur food looks amazing🥲🙏🏻🙏🏻✨

I always loved being invited to my friends with a different cultural background. I love learning about other cultures. Unfortunately you'll find ignorant people everywhere.

Kids say dumb things. It sounds like she's more open to it now.
