The Sims 4 base game update for September 2023 has dropped! This is a MAJOR Sims 4 base game update that adds new gameplay features.

The reason the cakes are under cooking is because the baking skill is only available through Get to Work. They keep the cakes under base game so everyone can age up their sims without having to have an expansion pack.

Hopefully they keep releasing the QOL (Quality of Life) updates and sort out their wording issues as it doesn’t make sense. Love the vids btw. Also can you make a video of “every gets progressively smaller and the budget gets progressively bigger as the room decreases in size”?

As a baker, baking and cooking are different skill sets. I’d rather it be that if you have get to work, all of the base game based goods are changed to the baking tab/skill. If you don’t have it, they remain a cooking thing.

I usually get scared when they release an update wondering what its going to break and dreading updating my mods but this time I'm pleasantly optimistic. I've been annoyed how messy the recipes have been for a while and I've actually been looking forward to this one.

The baking vs. cooking issue was the first thing I looked at. Disappointed, but not surprised.

I did notice the interface change for the cooking. And I'm right there with you on cupcakes being under "cook". REALLY annoyed me it's not under BAKE, and they still couldn't even do that -_-
