Hi Ryan. Thanks for all your helpful tutorials and videos. Also trying to figure this tier system out, but I estimate around 25 sales per tier to move up the scale.

I was approved for MBA in February but couldn't upload any designs because of the pandemic (site shutdown) until July. In July, I uploaded and made my first sale. During that month, I uploaded the maximum amount and I just left the 10 designs alone for a few months to see how they sale respectively for that tier (Aug-Sept) and haven't visited or uploaded to MBA until last month about the first week of October.

When I logged into MBA, the results we gratifying since I just started MBA and was able to make 100+sales. What was even more surprising is that I jumped from tier 10 to 500. But since I haven't visited the site between Aug and Sept I'm not sure if it gradually moved up through the tier steps for every 25 sales. Gotto go through the analytics to find out what the actual sales were on the given days or time periods, but they continue to sell to this day.

I'm not sure, but if we trying to just basically figure this tier steps out, I just took the TOTAL NUMBER OF SALES DIVIDED BY THE NUMBER OF TIERS(TIERS 10, 25, 100, 500) = 25 SALES. i.e. 100/4 =25. So maybe, big maybe...If you make about 20-25 sales per tier, you move up.

Hopefully, this information gets us closer to understanding the tiers system or we can just nominate one of the subs to get a temporary job there for more insights. Thank You again.

Ryan what about a video discussing strategy the day you get tiered up? Say 25-100, 100 to 500, etc? Maybe touch on enabling your sold designs on other products or enabling other markets, touch on pricing again...?

Updated info for your viewers: To tier up out of Tier 10, you will most likely need far more than 10 sales. Currently (October 2022) I'm in Tier 10 with 77 sales. I've heard from others in similar situations. I don't know about the upper tiers, but the principle of needing "40%-60% of current upper limit" is no longer true. I sure wish it was true! Although I'm in no position to give advice, I would caution new sellers NOT to buy your own shirts to get out of Tier 10. That's no longer a guaranteed method of tiering up. I've been on Merch for more then 2 years and it is still a mystery for me... I can't figure out why some horrible designs go viral, while far better ones sell absolutely nothing.
Another issue is saturation. If you type "Cat" and search for Merch shirts only, amazon will return incredible + 70K. This means there are infinite competition and changes are algorithm will favor those older accounts with more sales volume, pushing your design to the last pages.
The only way I for people who are starting is promoting their designs.
