Pilot Hi-Tec-C pen review - The Greatest Pen Ever Made

A review of the Pilot Hi-Tec-C or G-Tec-C gel pen and why it's the greatest pen ever made, especially for artists. I really love this pen. Forget about ballpoint pens or brush pens, if I had to bring with me only one pen for drawing to a deserted island, this is it. My one pen, stationery haul. And of course, its a Japanese pen.

This video is so validating 😂 No one understands how amazing these pens are. Or why I’m so obsessed with them. I have gone through probably about 20 of the black 0.25s. Incredible for school notes because of the precision! Can’t stop won’t stop hahaha

Funny thing, I was drawing with this pen while I saw this video. When I first got this pen I really hated it. It skipped a lot actually and was frustrating to draw with. Now I live in the Netherlands and I think it was just too cold, I find that when I’m using the pen for a bit it gets smoother and smoother. And it’s summer now and it works perfectly 99% of the time ;D
I’m starting to really enjoy drawing with it ^w^

Just don't use them if you have notes that you want to last.I used them for my technical notes and after a few years some of the colours faded away and it's impossible to read what I wrote.

I love the quick paced editing style of this video! I just watched the 12 hour sketchbook too. Subscribed!

Oh my gosh this is also literally my favorite pen of. all. time. I refuse to use other pens in class and the amazing thing is, I can use it for drawing. I also prefer the point c4 variant than c3 because the latter is a bit scratchy, and the ones I owned back then either dried out or stopped working after I dropped them once.

By the way, is it just me who has problems with the c4 refills? They're cheaper but they also produce much thicker and wetter lines when writing (to the point where the ink bleeds to the back of the paper) and it's really annoying.

as a left hander i have been using ths pen myself too for as far as i can remember, and i still use it becuz of it being so dang priceless, and so good, until 9th grade id been having problems with finding pens that suited my left handed style of drawing/writing, and this one pen that i got as a free item with some other purchase changed my life.

to be honest im glad that such a review exists of such an underrated pen. This review might just prove usefull for all those lefty's scratching their head with their dirty ink soiled hands.

First, Pilot has been producing some really quality stuff for a while. This pen is no exception. I use it quite often. There is, however one drawback, which I’m surprised you didn’t mention. You are correct as far as price and flawless ink flow, but for some reason whichever type of plastic they chose for the body does not lend itself to bending. I find the thin clip breaks off far too easily (or I’m far too strong and should not be permitted to handle small, pointy things) and annoys the doo-doo out of me.

I am a pro sketcher for almost 30 years and working as an Architect and if u draw technical stuf it could be one of the good pens, but I prefer scratching pens due to the ruffness. or dry pens. It makes a nicer texture. if I want a line, I can print it and do it on a computer

Pilot G-2 pens are also amazing. I'm gonna have to get one of these Hi-Tec pens next time and try it out. Looks sharp. I can't stand ballpoints.
