15 years stranded on TINY ISLAND

Tromelin Island stranding is maybe the worst stranded incidences in recorded history. 60 people stranded for 15 years on a tiny Isle of Sand in the Indian Ocean. When people finally were able to rescue them only 7 women and 1 baby left on the island. The Castaways were Malagasy slaves who where shipwrecked there along with their French captors who build a boat and left.

Okay so i actually looked this up and apparently it's based on a true event. A couple of crucial details were missed though. No one died shackled, the hold was simply locked which is why so many slaves died. The crew contingent was absolutely massive with 122 crew leaving the island to look for help. The crew dug a well in the first days, and built a forge. The people left on the island built buildings and basements and a lookout tower. Most people died within the first few months. The person leading the evacuation campaigned for years to have a rescue mounted. Later the story was picked up again and twice a rescue was attempted, but could not be carried out, to the point that a crewman from one of the rescue ships had to be abandoned on the island too. There was enough wood left over from the original ship that a fire had been maintained throughout the 15 years. The survivors were freed and the woman with the infant personally taken in by the governor of mauritius.

The fact that someone got pregnant and had a baby on the land during such bizarre circumstances is even crazier

Wish we could have seen the whole story in person, like how each person died, why did every man die? Who was the last man that got the woman pregnant? A story that will never fully be told. Like many awe inspiring stories throughout the ages that have been washed away by time. 😔

Thats fuxking deep dude...just imagine. Like actually try to imagine what it must have been like being left there for 15 years! The hope that someone will come back and save you. The inevitable realization that nobody is coming. Wow...just wow...
