The really cool thing about soldier fly larva is they literally take the waste, consume and then disperse it when they die, they're not just digesting it, they take their weight in waste with them when they fly away.

Worm will work very well in there as well and all year round as well.
6 ft by six feet you got more than a decade.
If you use te saw dust from your various projects by putting a scoop on top after your business it will never smell. The carbon in it react with poop and breaks I t down.
I have had mine roughly the same size with a family of six for tw decades and still use it.

Should have a rainwater collector for flushing water and have a toilet with a trap door so no stinky when using.

For those concerned about the plastic... A 5 gallon bucket from lowes, topped with the cheapest toilet seat from lowes, will easily support 360 pounds, with zero problems Just don't go shifting all over the place. LOL My only concern with it would be how would it hold up over time. Plastic gets brittle. The pit may hold up for two to twenty years, but I doubt the plastic toilet will last that long.
