From Archangel Michael A train carriage with gifts
pop music
[Verse]
Archangel Michael in the sky so free
Whispers of joy and a cup of glee
Train carriage loaded with gifts galore
New Year knocking on every door
[Chorus]
Celebrate with laughter hearts all a-glow
Feel the magic in the air pure and slow
Candles burning bright the night won't end
Step into the new year ready to transcend
[Verse 2]
Balloons are rising with wishes to the stars
Feet tapping rhythm under falling sparklers
Every second counts as the clock ticks loud
Ready to shine proud through the crowd
[Chorus]
Celebrate with laughter hearts all a-glow
Feel the magic in the air pure and slow
Candles burning bright the night won't end
Step into the new year ready to transcend
[Bridge]
Angels sing above the swirling tides
Love and hope in joyful strides
Trains of dreams around the bend
Cheers to a year that never ends
[Chorus]
Celebrate with laughter hearts all a-glow
Feel the magic in the air pure and slow
Candles burning bright the night won't end
Step into the new year ready to transcend
Michael (Hebrew mihael – "who is like God"), archangel, archangel
Commemoration of September 6, November 8, May 8 (Antioch-zap. [1]) - commemoration of the apparition of about 490/495 on Mount Gargano near Manfredonia (southern Italy) to Bishop Laurentius of Sipont, in whose memory the Archangel Monastery (Sanctuary of Monte Sant'Angelo) was founded
In the Bible, he is called "the leader of the Lord's army" (slav. "the archangel of the Lord's power"; Nav 5:14-15), because under his leadership the angelic forces opposed the devil (Rev 12:7-9). In the Book of the prophet Daniel (Dan 12:1), archangel Michael is depicted as a "great prince standing up for the sons" of the Israelites, since the protection given to this people was one of the types of his service to people. In New Testament times, Archangel Michael was recognized as the patron saint and champion of the "militant Church," that is, of all those faithful to God who wage war against the forces of evil.
In the icons, Michael tramples the devil underfoot, holds a green date branch in his left hand, and in his right hand is a spear with a white banner (sometimes a flaming sword) on which a scarlet cross is inscribed.
Prayer books
Troparion, glas 4
Archangel, / we always pray to you, the unworthy, / that through your prayers you may protect us / with the shelter of your immaterial glory, / preserving us who fall down diligently and cry out:/ deliver us from troubles, / / as the commander of the highest Powers.
Kontakion, glas 2
O Archangel of God,/ to the servant of divine glory,/ commanding angels and mentoring men,/ ask for what is useful to us and have great mercy,// like bodiless Archangels.
Prayer
Great Archangel of God, Michael, conqueror of demons, defeat and crush all my enemies, visible and invisible. And beseech the Lord Almighty, may the Lord save and preserve me from all sorrows and from every disease, from deadly ulcers and from unnecessary death, O great archangel Michael, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
