Ben Affleck Has Officially Wrapped As Batman In The Flash

Well it seems that Ben Affleck has stepped down from playing Batman after filming his scenes in the upcoming film, The Flash. I give my quick thoughts on Mr. Affleck's exit from the Batcave...

Remember when Affleck went on a late night talk show and said "I'm not Batman anymore"? That felt pretty official to me, although he then came back for ZSJL and the Flash. I'm sure he could come back again for the right project.

I worked with Ben on Live By Night. He was the nicest guy. Super sweet to the crew, the extras and the locals watching us film. (He went out of his way to take a picture with a kid with a batman shirt in a wheel chair and rushed to help an older extra who fainted from the heat we shot in.) I think at the end of the day the smoking gun was the powers the be at Warner Brothers at the time. He shot WAAAAY more of the novel than reflected in the final film. I think WB made him shit out a 2 hour cut of LBN so they could rush The Batman as fast as they could. Add the personal shit he was dealing with at the time, its no wonder he wanted out. While I'm sad he's hanging up the cape, I'm grateful we got his performance restored in ZSJL and we're getting one final outing. Even if it's just a cameo, it's great to see he found closure.

damn Batfleck had so much potential, this pretty much also confirms the rumor of the DC Universe being rebooted with Supergirl, The Flash, and Keaton as Batman. WB just keeps shooting themselves in the foot it’s like they purposely ruin their reputation 😔

I'll always have Batman v Superman. I love the film, the Ultimate Cut anyway, and I can never lose that. The scene with Batman in the warehouse, jumping off the Batwing and going through the glass. And the Knightmare scene through the Flash scene asking if he's too late, I just get goosebumps. That scene floored me. That little taste of where this universe might head. Then we got the Snyder cut of JL. Im so grateful. I wish we got Ben's Batman flick but I'm grateful for what we were given...

the reason WB can't start a movie shared universe is because if one of those movies flops they are so quick to reboot it instead of trying to make a better sequel

Since Andy Muschietti pretty much said that Affleck’s Batman’s and Miller’s Flash’s relationship in the Flash are that they are people that have lost their mothers to crime, I’m sort of hoping that the two characters can find closure together as the driving points of the characters and their approach to crime fighting is that they have experienced loss.

Granted, I am of the firm belief that Batman should never find closure in his parents deaths, because if he does, there’s no point in Batman, but if it’s in the best interest in the character than all for it!!!

Absolutely gutted, like you I loved how he portrayed the character. I will say the upcoming Battinson looks pretty sick, so I'm pumped for that, but it was always such a shame to lose out on a possible standalone Affleck Batman movie.

Growing up watching the DC Animated Universe _(Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond, and Justice League/Unlimited)_, seeing the DCEU crumble is just incredibly disappointing. Knowing that we had Cavill as Superman, Affleck as Batman, Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Momoa as Aquaman is just depressing at this point.

It really makes you wonder if WB never meddled with the movies, just let Snyder do his thing and allow the universe to play out we could've had a JL trilogy and solo movie with Affleck as Batman. His tenure really ended up just being wasted potential which sucks.
