This week, the one and only Dolly Parton graces Dumb Blonde with her presence, and it's truly a dream come true. The living legend first talks with Bunnie about her humble Appalachian roots, her childhood in the Smoky Mountains, and the profound influence of her close-knit family. She then discusses the pivotal role her Uncle Bill played in nurturing her early musical aspirations and helping her land a breakthrough performance at the iconic Grand Ole Opry. Dolly also opens up about the challenges she faced navigating the Nashville music scene as a young artist, her enduring partnership with husband Carl Dean, and the entrepreneurial empire she's built, including her successful makeup line, Dolly Beauty, Dolly Wines, and her beloved Imagination Library program.

I remember waking up at my grandparents on Christmas morning with Dolly playing on vinyl. My Grandpa is in his 80's and still has a crush on her. So do I.

No matter how much Dolly jokes about her "stage glamour" she was ALWAYS a natural beauty, as well as a brilliant, creative mind with God-given talent. She has contributed so much to all that is good in this world. Bunnie, you are a truly gifted interviewer and you have such a soothing voice. ❣🎈

First time viewer. Dolly is my hero. I'm from East TN too and she has done so much for her community. She helps to educate children by giving out books and scholarships. I am glad that you are a big fan and you seem to have a kind heart.

She is such a lovely human being - I remember watching her on some awards show years ago - there was a ripping sound on mic and someone standing behind Dolly came up and draped their coat on her - without skipping a beat, Dolly says "well, my Daddy always told me you can't pack ten pounds of potatoes in a five pound sack!"
She quietly gives to people and causes - she's a gem.

I've met her several times throughout the years, and she's the sweetest, most humble celebrity you can ever meet.

It’s sad that Carl Dean (Dolly’s Husband) was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2019. To hear Dolly talk about her husband as if he’s okay is sad. I know she’s heartbroken and just protecting her husband. We love you, Dolly! 🦋

Dolly Parton's is an angel on earth in voice and in works, her Imagination reading program supplies books here in Flint Michigan and MANY other places that have a need of children's books! Also my Mom went to school with Tommy and Johnny Cash in Arkansas, my grandpa was a Pentecostal preacher and my Mom, aunts and uncles all the kids in the area had to help pick cotton; my mom stayed friends with Tommy who had a place by hers in Florida until he passed recently.

On Sunday afternoons when the Porter Wagner Show came on and Dolly would sing...we kids weren't allowed to speak a word as my Daddy pulled the foot stool up in front of the t.v. set and sat mesmerized by Dolly. Not a word! lol.
