I was the main caretaker for my father, as he neared the end of his battle with cancer. This song came to me about 6 months before the end. The simple reminder that all things are temporary gave me a sense of peace and acceptance.

Thom and Jonny are amongst the finest musicians of our time. Jonny is now on a level with Philipp Glasss. Thom's songwriting is awesome. And his lyrics are pure poetry. The text of Free in the Knowledge is one of the finest poetry of the upgoing century comparable to Auden, Trakl and Rimbaud. So here we are really on the heights of art creation.

When I first heard this song I wasn’t that into it, but last week and this I really found a new meaning of the vocals. Funny how Thom can capture your emotions before you even experience them in your life. Been listening to it on repeat and now the video came out. Very strange, very eerie. Hope everything will end well, I need to come through eventually.
