A simple answer-
Indian Psycology "jo aukat se bahar vo jameen bechke bhi lunga, because it shows your fake class amongst peers" "chahe accha ho na ho mehenga hai to aukat se vahar hai, aur vo lena hai chahe emi pe hi kyu na ho"

I may believe that Ferrero rocher become one of the biggest chocolate brand in India but I can't believe that it is among the most gifted things during festive season. Fresh sweets and Cadbury celebrations may still be favorites.
Sounds more like a brand promotion.

not sure but i think ferrero rocher was the first luxury chocolate brand that saw indian market so being the first luxury chocolate we got the idea of luxury= ferrero rocher, coupled with good marketing and supply chain they were able to gain such market share

It’s because every girl says it’s their favourite chocolate and boys do buy it for them even though we never heard of it

In the US and Canada, Ferrero Rocher is seen as pretty cheap mid-quality chocolate. I’ve noticed the Indian version tastes different from the Western one, and honestly, I think the Indian one tastes better! But surely way expensive as well.

We should also make sweets (doodh peda, Mysore Pak, etc) and wrap an appealing cover and sell for more prizes in foreign countries 😊

Point 2 is false. India has rich forest and Hazelnuts forest are in abundance in Pangi Valley, Chamba, HP. So India did not start growing Hazelnuts because of Ferrero Rocher. They were already present in India.

That's because Ferro rocher is the only premium brand. They don't sell loose chocolate for ₹10 or ₹20. Their minimum price in my opinion is like ₹100.

Buying expensive stuffs for short term either for yourself or for giving them as gifts is a status symbol in almost every part of the world.

I guess when it comes to buying things for ourselves, we think about price and all but when it comes to gifting, we don't care about all those because it is related to prestige and status

I always used to prefer #'Celebrations' chocolate pack over Ferrero Rocher 😁

Add one more - status - a foreign product, seen as classy, it matters a lot to societies where appearances are an important social drive.

After having bought few times I'm avoiding buying Ferrero Rocher. They are just fooling the customers
