That on Mahomes would be an assault charge

Because he's suspended for 3 games (4 Weeks) it cost him a little over $3M

If they really want to protect the qb, they need to add a penalty for a qb faking an intention to slide and continuing to run.

You cant stick your elbow with a brace on it into the facemask of a sliding QB. Like seriously Domonique be real.

What pissed me off was after the hit and fight he didn’t check up on Trevor. He even stood there for a while and did nothing. When he was being escorted he took his helmet off and started jawing at the Jaguars which almost started another fight. Then he started jawing at the fans. He deserves it. Glad he “apologized” yesterday, AKA agent typed it up and he just read over it and sent it.

Thank you Jeff Saturday for calling out that hot pile of bs your co-host was trying to spew out there.
There was clear intention to lay a mean hit on Lawrence.

Blaming the slide is crazy to me. If Trevor doesn't slide then the hit was directed right at his knees. Either scenario is dirty imo

The hit didn't deserve the 3 game suspension. The way he acted after the hit and the fact its a pattern with him, certainly deserves it and more.

Domonique Foxtworth may have had a valid point in a vacuum but this was not the place to try and make it. The hit was not a mistake, it WAS egregiously wrong. Did he just need the talking minutes? What a stupid argument to double down on THIS segment. Glad Jeff and others called it out and pushed back. So dumb. Stop it.

Why did he get suspended...for playing defense

Seems like a good idea but they need to get rid of the slide rule. Too much room for the QB to take advantage of it. Dive forward or get out of bounds. Should be treated like any other player once he becomes a runner.

Everyone who keeps saying he slid at the last second... yall are idiots. Let me debunk stupid people. 1. Al Shaair wasn't running at full speed. He was drifting. 2. Lawrence slides exactly 5 yards away from him. 3. Al shaair broke down to his 2 point stance when Lawrence started his slide. 4. He meets Lawrence in the head with his forearm, meaning he lunged to meet him on the slide, which was a coordinated play

More than I expected...still not enough. Football is a violent sport. So that means rules must be followed 100% of the time. The hit was intentional. With malice. His actions after proves this beyond doubt.

Comical that Runyan, one of the dirtiest lineman in recent history, is the one giving out penalties for sportsmanship. What a joke

Has anyone ever implied Jeff Saturday was soft? He was talking like we didn’t see him in the trenches for a decade.

FOX and SAT were both making valid passionate points. This hit is inexcusable but as a defender you gotta be careful also.

Seriously, stop it, Fox. I couldn't even stomach this point of view.

I think people who never played the game on the defensive side of the ball don't have any idea of moving targets! This is what's missing in this conversation. A defensive player isn't aiming for the man's head! He's aiming for his body! They're both moving, one person faster than the other from two different distances at different angles. You can't time it perfectly. The point of impact will change based on the speed of travel and the distance traveling of both players. You can only try. Both players have a responsibility. One offensively gets past the line, and the other defensively stops the crossing of the line. Defensive players may never say this granted they are not trying to injure the other, but they do want them to feel the consequences! Don't try that again, or this is going to happen! The game is violent

It’s a pattern of dangerous behavior, and I’d look at removing him from the league, if I were the owners and commissioner.

Jeff usually has good points, good analyst all around. When it comes to late hits it's important to see sanctions be in full effect in order to decrease them.
