Slow living isn’t a trend for me. It's a lifestyle I have embraced for years; I learned it from my mom and grandma. We always just took our time to enjoy the beauty of the everyday. I’m a romantic at heart, with a practical lifestyle approach to “keep it simple.” I grew up on a farm, which furthered my love of simplicity and back to the basics mindset.

We moved six months ago to our cozy cottage, and we are in the process of fixing it up. I strive to make our home cozy and inviting no matter what remodeling stage we are in. Making a home hygge and cozy is just a normal way of life for me, and I can’t imagine it any other way.

Abby Jo, I was worried I wouldn’t get to watch new videos since y’all were packed up and moving. What a wonderful surprise to see this video today. I don’t get home from work until after midnight and have been binge watching your old videos while trying to unwind after work. You were pregnant in some of the recent videos I have been watching making your granny’s chocolate pour and loved the one where you roasted pumpkin/squash to make a lovely soup. I love late summer. It's a lovely, mellow time. We, too, are having cooler weather after a lot of high heat and humidity. It's blissful. I love that you make the time and the space to honor your afternoon tea/coffee time, and it's always a pleasure to see you and your daughter together in the kitchen. I can almost smell the cinnamon rolls! Nothing like a warm, homemade cinnamon roll. Like so many others have commented, this video is bittersweet. I understand 💯where you head & heart are traveling to- my husband & I are completely in the same quandary. Even tho we only live an hour away there are so many times we wish we could just pop over & our son & family. Yes… we have been retired early for almost 14 years & with 5 kids their lives are constantly changing & growing. So… we want that change also! I can can certainly tell you I wouldn’t have the energy to pack right now. This month has been so busy flying here and going there. Its was lovely but I’m even having trouble just wanting to get up and dust. I did two rooms today and I’m already ready for a nap. Well, here I go to dust the dining room. I will sorely miss your vlog and I wish you nothing but the best with all you do! Nothing beats a good cinnamon roll recipe, especially with a nice cup of coffee, or Earl grey tea.
My favourite go to cinnamon roll recipe is from an old Amish cookbook from Marcia Adams ( remember watching her before Food Network station from 1980’s and 90’s). It calls for mashed potatoes of all things and is very good, especially Christmas morning breakfast.

I really appreciate your cozy videos. I have been listening to older videos to help me sleep today. Been dealing with insomnia due to finding out I will need to move again soon. 3rd time in 2 years! This time we will be moving in with family and almost all of our home will be in long term storage. This move also means having to find a new job after 12 years, which is mildly terrifying 😊. I will be listening to your videos as i decide what is important and what can be replaced in a few years when I'm finally able to buy a home. good luck with your move, and i look forward to seeing your new adventures!
