There will be serious mold problems in a lot of buildings soon if everything isn't dried out thoroughly.

The sealion escaping the enclosure but returning back to it, is a great metaphore for all those people trapped with their busy lives in that flooded city.

The planet has seen plenty of weather like this. What it hasnt seen before are vast areas concreted over and natural flood plains turned into giant cities.

Can't even imagine how many sinkholes this will cause.

People need to understand this can happen anywhere, anytime, from now on.
Clean your storm drains BEFORE it happens.
Edit 4 hours and 50 replies later:
By THIS CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE I mean a weather system locked over a geographical location and pouring incredible amounts of water. It's been happening all over the world at ANY ALTITUDE (below snow level of course)
ANYTIME FROM NOW ON because global warming means ever increasing amounts of water in the atmosphere.
Sure even clean drains won't be enough, but it's one step in a series of steps than can help lessen the gravity of the flooding.
I'd rather start with clean drains than clogged drains. Of course there are other things to do..

How did the electric vehicles do in the flooding? Serious question

I’m in Michigan and we just went through this, I was stuck at my sisters house for 4 days, my sister no longer has a car and lots of damage to houses. Worse floods we’ve ever had it was horrible. Hope everyone in NY stay safe and NOT attempt to drive through it, you can’t tell how deep it is unless your car is almost completely submerged.

I feel bad for the fire and police department, they are treated like crap by their own city, now they have to rescue people that want to defund them. People are like, help me! Find your own way out of this mess. The guy having to be carried out of his car! You can't walk through water up to your knees?

Why are people driving in that? That's nuts.

Sometimes you need these types of storms to wash the pollution, pest and sins away.

People need to get checked by a doc if they walk through that water

Am I the only one who thinks that man should have gotten out of the car himself? That guy didn't want to get his shoes wet. Pathetic

Most New Yorkers don't use trash cans. Most of the drains are covered with garbage. There is no reason for some of these streets to be this flooded. Ive seen drivers dump garbage out of their vehicles at stop lights and by curbs. This all contributes to the clogged drains that help cause the flooding here

The weather lady could not resist saying that it's "Climate Change".
This happens in Florida a LOT !!!
Every year the whole alphabet is used to name the storms.
"Climate Change" happens 4 times a year in most of the USA. Not to mention El Niño & La Niña.
