Washington Mutual Anthem: Proud To Be A WaMulian

Long ago, in the early 2000's, I worked for a company whose culture transcended the daily droning tasks of checking accounts and lending products. It truly was a vibrant, engaging environment and the type of people who worked there (for the most part) were some of the hardest working and most genuine people I've ever met. They lived the core values; Fair, Caring, Human, Dynamic, and Driven, in and out of the office.

I loved working for Washington Mutual Bank, otherwise known as WaMu, and still remain friends with many people I met there. They were ahead of the game in corporate culture, but unfortunately made some disastrous decisions that landed WaMu in an FDIC seizure in Sept 2008, ultimately being taken over by Chase in a 12 hour blitz.

Nevertheless, I'm grateful I got to work there. I learned a lot about hard work, using my creativity in unusual ways, and how important people are in the business world.

This is a parody song I wrote back in 2004. I really was, and still am proud to be numbered among the ranks of WaMulians.
