The HYDRASYNTH keyboard is both a sound designers dream synth as well as a performing musicians ideal. The sound engine is designed for maximum flexibility. Nice demo, as always. But am I alone in feeling underwhelmed by the actual sound? I'm talking about in general, not the sounds courtesy of Mr. PAD. I love old school wavetable synths like the Microwave XT but was less than impressed with the Argon8 I briefly owned as well as most Hydra demos I've heard. Even the Jexus demo didn't do much for me, which is... unusual lol. The main issues I had with the Argon8 was a lack of character (which for some people might be a good thing, IDK), really weak filters, and most of the sounds I found useful just seemed like things I could do with a cheap FM synth. The filters and FX sound better on the Hydra, but there's still not enough novelty here for my tastes. I do think it's a really cool looking synth.
