A former Harvard Medical School morgue employee is one of five people under indictment for stealing body parts from the facility.

Court documents show the former employee sold body parts donated to the schools from 2018 to early 2023. Flint McColgan with The Boston Herald joined LiveNOW from FOX's Josh Breslow to explain the bizarre case.

Donating to science saves the family considerable expense disposing of the body. Student surgeons do learn from cadavers. For example, the look and feel of a tissue (a must for a surgeon) can't really be conveyed through other means. Because of this people are going to be more fearful of donating bodies to science.

This happened in Arizona. The families sued. The owners of the place, where bodies were strung up with all different body parts from different people, like Frankenstein. There were buckets of penises. There needs to be more oversight into the organ donation industry. I changed, and had my whole family change, to no longer being organ donors. This is sick.

I hope they get serious prison time for abuse of corpses. It's one of the most disgusting violations of the human dead that exists in my opinion. These people are no different than Ed Gein.

Im both born and raised in Boston and grew up in Cambridge. In my teens (im 35) my friends and I used to hang "in the pit" (Harvard Sq). Theres so much corruption with Harvard Med, we used to joke about this because we got all our drugs (we alt/punk rock scene kids/teens) from the Harvard students since they made them in the Harvard lab. Half the time we didn't even know what we were taking since they (the students) just made homeaid batches of it; we were sometimes told "this'll make u go up/ this'll make u go down" or it was bathtub acid. All made and sold by the chem students. So while we drinking or getting high, hanging by the river or in the pit, we joked since the chem students (it was only 2 students who did it, i hope one of u atleast is reading this, wadup J! 😂) did this, what was the morgue up to? Selling body parts to the black market. It became a little home town conspiracy... except now, im hating that we were right... god bless the families im so sorry.

There is no way higher ups didn't know what was going on. They were probably benefiting from the money he was making. To have people going in and out of the morg and nobody noticing sooner. At this point I'm not surprised in Harvard having this happen.

Absolutely disgusting, if this was another Country like a Third World country they would chop off their hands as punishment what kind of human being would do this absolutely sickening, these people need to be locked up for life, we have too many problems in our society it’s time to get rid of these bad people
