Where I am right now, Fairfield Co., Connecticut, the sky looks much clearer today. I was also in southeast NY State (Westchester Co.) for a short time & conditions seemed to be better there too.

Instead of putting on the show handing out one mask at a time, why does not the Mayor do the actual Mayor's job like making sure that schools have KN95. The school my kids go to does not have any. I can't believe I voted for this guy

I did not smell any wild fire smoke today 6/8/23. As much as yesterday.

Not familiar with wildfires up close but I have seen 9/11, and a few other massive fires and the smoke was black or gray. Yesterday afternoon, it was GREEN outdoors. Like the tint on a television setting.
I didn't even THINK "smoke". There was nothing smokey about it. Strange times...

It helps if 6 feet apart and wear a mask it makes the smoke go away, imagine if they set the fires on purpose in Canada

The technology for seeding clouds exists.
They can create rain/snow on the periphery of the existing fire so it doesn't spread and wash some of the particles in the air.
Not sure why they don't work on it.

As a westerner who, for the past 7 years, has experienced catastrophic fire and poor air quality due to climate change, I support this message.
We did not experience the same magnitude of fires in the "ots", the 90's, the 80's (even with a fiery volcano), or the 70's as we have for the past 7 years. Anyone who says "business as usual. It's normal" has their head buried in the sand down to their behind.
If any good may come out of this event, it's the shift in perspective of millions of Americans who before this never experienced what it's like to be afraid to breathe the air even when nobody else is around. To go for a walk, or to play outside.
That said: "be well" friends in the East! My heart goes out to you all. Please remember us in tbs West. We love you.
