Goldsmith was fantastic…everything he wrote had nobility. I’m a retired studio singer who had the honor and privilege of working with this brilliant man. A very nice man as well. Rest In Peace, Mr. Goldsmith. You are deeply missed.

Just watched it last night. Still the best use for those small helicopters ever. Nowadays they might even be robotic hunter killer ones. Does not lose much to CGI and benefits from it (perhaps the Mars sequence would have been helped ie green screen mars background. Love the dust cropper sequence with a perfect pilot. The news editor could easily have been the the next editor or the daily planet or spiderman. The music is truly forboding. Wonder if a reboot with a plot of Elon faking his mars arrival might work now or the Chinese trying to get their first

Excellent "conspiracy theory" film! I remember seeing this movie on vacation at Hilton Head Island, SC in 1978. Telly Savalas was the biplane pilot, kept calling Elliot Gould a smart ass! Great action and drama.
