If this story is true, OP did everything correctly. Sure, he was devastated by his wife's betrayal but he kept his head, didn't do the pick me dance and was proactive and stood firm in his decisions. OP should contact Brenda and thank her for saving him from an inevitable disaster years down the line. He should also inform AP that he has a son. He may possibly want to be in the child's life. This will give Katie something else to deal with and possibly get her to leave OP alone.

Once a cheater always a cheater. He needs to sit down with his older children and explain that their mother has been deceitful about important things and he does not know what is the truth or what is real. Explain to his grownup children he wants DNA tests with them to see if he is their biological Dad. Explain that most likely he is as they were conceived 20 years ago. Also explain that if he is not their biological Dad. He is still their Dad and that will continue as always. Tell them that he considers they need to know for sure as he does. If they don’t want to do the DNA test he will respect their decision. Watch out what the mother does, that will say a lot.

OP 1, get a prenatal DNA test and get divorced before the baby is born. Depending on the state you live in, you could be on the hook for child support for any child born during your marriage as it is assumed you are the father despite DNA evidence.

Found myself in a similar situation but there was no need for a paternity test as I had had a vasectomy after our last child was born. My wife didn't even bother disclosing her pregnancy, or affair with her boss, to me. She elected to keep things quiet and to have an abortion. Only problem was I found out about her appointment with the family planning clinic and I confronted her at the clinic just before the procedure was to have happened. She could not have been more vulnerable. Long story short, she eventually had an abortion. Remarkably, more than two decades later, we are still married (it's been a slow walk through hell). What is clear though is that I would never agree to raising another man's child (never mind the financial implications of doing this).
