Tuna tagging techniques explained

Whether you are bringing a smaller tuna on board to tag or a bigger fish tagged boat side make sure you are locking the tag in the fin ray bones rather than just poking it in the muscle. Also, make sure you fill the tag card out and send it back as soon as possible after the fish is released. Without the card the information from the tag is not useful.
