is there a way i could return data rather than console logging it? I would like to be able to then play around with the data. for example use attributes from data to call another api in different and seperate function outside of the original function

every time I try to use fetch( ) on a JSON file I get this error in my google chrome console "URL scheme must be "http" or "https" for CORS request."
What am I doing wrong?

what if i wanted to store the result of the fetch into a variable of type object so that i can later play with it in my code ? i have watched tons of videos and still cant figure out how it works....
