It's interesting to me how, on one hand, there are so many homogenized remakes these days like Silent Hill 2, Persona 3 Reload, Resident Evil 4, etc. that sand out a lot of the identity and friction of the originals in favor of modern sensibilities, but on the other hand there are all of these old school remakes that retain most of the original's spirit. I also find it funny how so many people think souls games are the pinnacle of difficulty, when the difficulty of soulslikes feels average compared to a lot of SNES games (I mean in terms of the amount trial and error involved, room for execution error, etc.).
