This particular boat is intended for lake or river use. Doing haulover in a open downward tapered bow is asking for trouble.

I would go out but no bowrider also know as a water scoop. Also life jackets are a must !!

Here is the thing to me. I always assume what would happen if you lost your engines. I am 71, so, I remember the days when it was not uncommon to have engine problems. They are surely much more reliable now, but, still, you have to be prepared for the worst. A boat is not like a car. In a car you could pull off the road and get help very soon. If something happens in this sort of weather, there are not going to be many, if any others around to help you. You are really in another world if you need someone to tow you in these sea conditions.

For all the folks saying “power up”…that’s a good way to totally swamp a bow rider. One good bow wave hit at any decent speed and the bow will fill with water, engines will push it further under water until the stern rises and the bilge pumps will also be less useful with the water up front.

Yes, but I'd use the throttles. It's amazing what those things help you do in heavy seas.

If the height of the wave is longer than your boat it's time to turn back

If you MUST have a bow rider at least use a cover when going through seas like this...and use your throttle to keep the bow up.

Why not, it'll smooth out when you get out the inlet, good job captain in other words don't knock it till you've tried it, hollover canal is a beast at times

I went out with my father inlaw years ago in waves like this, and our boat got swamped, thought we were gonna sink.

It's good practice, looks like a rip tide . A small craft warning can be a lot worse out at sea . And a full scale storm is even crazier
