Can't you write that IF statement a bit shorter? Like if(!empty($_POST['username', 'password' etc..]) just to make it less messy if you have a shit ton of forms?

my form is going forward anyway even though I followed the instructions it's not telling me to put a password in.

You did not address the flow control if the form is not filled stay in the page if fully filled them go to action path or file processing its data, this is not shown in any other video, please show us... in other words you leave the action of the form empty.
