My goodness- where do I start? Lived there from 1985 - 1991 to attend UTEP, best years of my Life. I LOVE EL PASO. My Family lives in Houston & San Antonio and if El Paso wasn’t so far away, I would LOVE to move back. I love EVERYTHING about EL PASO - the Food & People. I miss Chico’s Tacos, Track One, Village Inn, Cattleman’s in Fabens...yes, I miss El Paso.

I grew up in El Paso in the '50s and '60s. When I graduated HS the population was "only" about 350k, the city limits on the west side ended about 2 miles north of Mesa and Doniphan and somewhere near Americas avenue on the east side. I had been in the first 8th grade class of what was then the new Morehead school on N. Mesa and there were large swaths of desert up Shadow Mountain and the Coronado Tower. There was no 375 Loop but the then recent completion of the Spaghetti Bowl lent an air of sophistication to the freeway system. Hueco Tanks was really pretty far out of town and there were no fees to enter. (We all knew that some of the pictographs on the rocks were actually painted by Boy Scouts.) My parents were big boosters for Miner Athletics and so had season tickets for us to see all the home games at Memorial Gym during the '65-'66 championship season. My first real job in El Paso after getting married was with the State National Bank's IT department (now Wells Fargo, I believe). But IT as a career in El Paso for me wasn't to be and we moved to Southern California for a few years before finally escaping that black hole to end up in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas. I would have stayed in El Paso forever if there had been a way to make the kind of living I needed. Still love to visit a few days at a time so we can drive around the "old places" and note the newest changes. I am proud of what my home town was and even now is and it will always have its place in my heart.

Scenic Drive. Especially on a clear night. And THE STAR.
Grew up in El Paso and miss it. As you say, the mountains make it special.
Food? L&J's for breakfast.

Great video! Just made me fell in love with this city. It looks so good to live there. Im 19 and Im from Belgium. Everything is so different in Belgium even if the people are really nice I hate the climate.. rainy country.. I actually don’t like being here anymore and I really wanna go to El paso now!

Seeing those mountains made me miss home. I would cruise down trans mountain and scenic drive to enjoy the views at memorial park and hike at McKelligon Canyon.
Thank you for making me looking forward to my next trip home even more!

I love the Lower Valley area - train whistles, roosters crowing, Spanish Missions, Riverside Park, street vendors, hiking trails, plenty of clean safe parks, night walks in the cooler air, Broadacres, cacti & succulents ... i could go on.

Downtown has new additions that need to be recognized. The trolley, the baseball/locomotive stadium, plaza, updated art museum and the mission churches are places I take visitors.

Liked El Paso since my parents vacationed there when I was 10 years old in 1965. I woke up from sleeping in the back of the car during the trip from San Antonio. The first thing I saw was the Franklin Mountains. "This is a place I could really like, I thought." Indeed it was. I was stationed at Fort Bliss while in the Army and did several Army reserve tours there. I make it a point to go over Trans Mountain even if it is not on the way whenever I am there. The terrain is such that I wounder why more science fiction doesn't come from the El Paso area. Maybe I should write some.

I applaud you for still making covid content. I enjoy your style of videos. They are very easy to watch. You two are naturals. I’m scratching my head wondering why your channel has not gone off the charts. Best regards from California.
