Larry the cat has become Downing Street’s first Chief Mouser to serve under six prime ministers following Sir Keir Starmer’s general election victory.

The 17-year-old tabby arrived from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in February 2011 and has been one of the few constants at No 10 ever since.

As hilarious as this sounds, maybe Larry should run the country. Everyone else has done a lousy job at it.

Has Sir Starmer, II know that is incorrect, that is why I do it, anyone who wants to get rid of Larry doesn't deserve reverence.

The traditional way downing street acquires a new cat is to get a replacement from the cats home but not Starmer he's got to buy a pure breed nice one kier very thoughful
