How to Paint TRANSLUCENT OCEAN WAVES

One thing I often get asked about with my seascape paintings is how do you paint the translucency of a breaking ocean wave? Well it is not as difficult as you might think.

In this video I give you some tips on painting ocean waves and how to achieve that magical translucency in the water as the sunlight shines through it. I also give you some general tips for painting seascapes.

Beautiful seascape & you make it look so easy! I've noticed several of your paintings are done on smaller, square surfaces. I mostly use 16 x 20 and after having to take a break for a few yrs, I'm finding it a bit daunting to begin or complete a painting. After seeing how much you can do with these smaller sizes, I think that may be the key for me to get back into the flow. I used to paint almost every day. I truly love oil painting & have missed it terribly so I'm excited to try this. Thank you for all you share. It's so very inspiring!
