Just got one on sale direct from Gerber. I could have spent more money for less knife. I don’t find any flaws in mine. Sharp out of the box. Very comfortable in my hand. Stylish in a classic, nostalgic, 50’s/60’s contemporary design sort of way.

Got one as a gift. The blade was so dull it was almost non-functional as a knife! Spent a significant amount of time sharpening and it didn't help much.

Well Gerber pretty sure the quality control needs To step up his game a little bit. I picked one of these up today straight out of the package it had a broken tip and The red and white handle material was not even lined up with the rest of the knife as if someone didn’t even polish it and contour it No reason why I should now have to go back to the store and return this knife wasting my time and gas money for something that should’ve been correct when it came from the factory other than that it definitely seems like a modern and traditional pretty bad ass knife

The design is fantastic, but the execution is subpar. This knife would be a hit if only the quality control and materials were better. Poor blade grinds, bottom of the barrel 7CR steel, cheap roughly cut plastic spacers between the bolsters and aluminum scales, roughly cut chrome plated pocket clip. Wow. That’s just sad. There are $30 Chinese made knives on the market with D2 steel, G10 scales, and fit/finish that blow the Straightlace out of the water. It’s a shame that Gerber has cheapened such a great slip joint design. How about a Portland Oregon-made version? Hell, I’ll be happy with 420HC and plastic scales on this knife if it means the quality will be a bit better.

*HOW ARE YOU STILL IN
The polished blade sucks. A 7Cr17MoV blade steel sucks. Gerber quality control sucks. Not sure that I like the pocket clip.
